Honey:

Brown rice can be eaten with gravies and dals. Oats can be included in the breakfast along with low-fat milk. Whole grains are also a great source of vitamin B and magnesium. Both of these play a vital role in the functioning of thyroid and adrenal glands. These are the glands that regulate body temperature, so whole grains are a must during the winter.

Nuts and Seeds:

Nuts are by and large liked by most people, so it is fairly easy to make them a part of your diet. Soak at least 10 almonds in milk before going to bed and eat them in the morning. They can also be added to oatmeal or cereals. This makes your breakfast more interesting and most importantly, healthy. Peanuts can be a great snack, and a delicious way of eating peanuts is to simply boil the peanuts and sprinkle on some salt and pepper. Egg yolk paste

These days people consume egg if they don’t find anything to consume. Rather, some people like egg and consumes it on a daily basis. Getting eggs in your refrigerator will be quite easy. You need to take out one egg , break it and pour it in a small container. You can easily see yellow color egg yolk in the middle of while liquid. Slowly take out the yolk from the container without leaking it. Now, make a face pack with egg yolk, 1 teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of milk powder. Mix the ingredients well and apply it over your face evenly leaving eyes and lips. Keep the paste for 20 minutes and wash with simple tap water.

दालचीनी और शहद का दमदार नुस्खा

सामान्यत: दालचीनी मसालों के रूप में काम मे ली जाती है। लेकिन यह पेट रोग, इंफ्यूएंजा, टाइफाइड, टीबी और कैंसर जैसे रोगों में उपयोगी पाई गई है। दालचीनी का तेल बनता है। दालचीनी,साबुन, दांतों के मंजन, पेस्ट, चाकलेट, सुगंध व उत्तेजक के रूप में काम में आती है। चाय, काफी में दालचीनी डालकर पीने से स्वादिष्ट हो जाती है तथा जुकाम भी ठीक हो जाता है। आज हम आपको बताने जा रहे हैं दालचीनी के कुछ घरेलु प्रयोग जो बहुत उपयोगी हैं।


- दालचीनी का तेल दर्द, घावों और सूजन को नष्ट करता है।

- दालचीनी को तिल के तेल, पानी, शहद में मिलाकर उपयोग करना चाहिए। दर्द वाले स्थान पर मालिश करने के बाद इसे रातभर रहने देते है। मालिश अगर दिन में करें तो 2-3 घंटे के बाद धोएं।

- दालचीनी में एंटीएजिंग तत्त्व उपस्थित होते हैं। एक नीबू के रस में दो बड़े चम्मच जैतून का तेल, एक कप चीनी, आधा कप दूध, दो चम्मच दालचीनी पाउडर मिलाकर पांच मिनट के लिए शरीर पर लगाएं। इसके बाद नहा लें, त्वचा खिल उठेगी।

- दालचीनी पाउडर की तीन ग्राम मात्रा सुबह-शाम पानी के साथ लेने पर दस्त बंद हो जाते हैं

- आर्थराइटिस का दर्द दूर भगाने में शहद और दालचीनी का मिश्रण बड़ा कारगर है।

-गंजेपन या बालों के गिरने की समस्या बेहद आम है। इससे छुटकारा पाने के लिए गरम जैतून के तेल में एक चम्मच शहद और एक चम्मच दालचीनी पाउडर का पेस्ट बनाएं। इसे सिर में लगाए और पंद्रह मिनट बाद धो लें।

- एक चम्मच दालचीनी पाउडर और पांच चम्मच शहद मिलाकर बनाए गए पेस्ट को दांत के दर्द वाली जगह पर लगाने से फौरन राहत मिलती है।

- सर्दी जुकाम हो तो एक चम्मच शहद में एक चौथाई चम्मच दालचीनी पाउडर मिलाकर दिन में तीन बार खाएं। पुराने कफ और सर्दी में भी राहत मिलेगी।

- पेट का दर्द-शहद के साथ दालचीनी पाउडर लेने पर पेट के दर्द से राहत मिलती है।

- खाली पेट रोजाना सुबह एक कप गरम पानी में शहद और दालचीनी पाउडर मिलाकर पीने से फैट कम होता है। इससे मोटे से मोटा व्यक्ति भी दुबला हो जाता है।

1. Garlic

Garlic’s antibacterial and antiviral properties can be very helpful in getting rid of cold symptoms. Garlic is good for the immune system and helps open up respiratory passages, and also helps flush toxins out of your body.

Mix together one crushed garlic clove, two teaspoons lemon juice, one teaspoon honey, and half a teaspoon cayenne pepper or red chilli powder. Consume it daily until the symptoms subside.
Boil four to five chopped garlic cloves in a cup of water and add one teaspoon of honey. Drink it two to three times a day.
You can also eat raw garlic or use a few drops of garlic oil in your food and drinks.


2. Honey

Honey can be of great help in soothing an irritated throat as well as shortening the lifespan of a cold. The high amount of nutrients and enzymes in honey help kill bacteria and viruses that cause colds.

The simplest home remedy is to consume a mixture of one teaspoon of lemon juice and two teaspoons of honey. Take it every two hours to get immense relief from your cold and sore throat.
If you prefer, you can simply swallow a spoonful of raw honey.

3. Salt gargling:
A glass of hot water with a teaspoon of salt can be useful to ease a sore throat. Ask your kid to gargle with salt water twice a day. The saline water helps soothe the pain.

4. Ginger

Ginger can be helpful in treating common cold and its symptoms due to its antiviral, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Eat raw ginger or drink ginger tea several times a day. For enhance the effectiveness of ginger tea, add a lemon juice and honey to it.
You can also make a paste of ginger, cloves and salt and eat one-half teaspoon of it two times a day.
For a runny nose, mix equal amounts of dry ginger powder, clarified butter (ghee) and jaggery (gur), a natural sweetener. Consume this mixture daily in the morning on an empty stomach.

5. Chicken Soup

Slice two to three red onions horizontally. Put one slice of onion in a bowl and add raw honey. Repeat the process until the bowl is full.
Cover the bowl and leave it for 12 to 15 hours. When you open the bowl, there will be thick liquid like syrup.

If you are suffering from a runny nose, put pepper on your food when you eat a meal. You can also gargle with a teaspoon of black pepper mixed in a glass of warm water.
If you cannot eat or drink pepper, you can still benefit from smelling pepper throughout the day.

8. Turmeric Milk

Milk, when combined with turmeric and ginger powder, helps treat coughing as well as other symptoms of a cold, like body aches and a headache. Contrary to the popular misconception, milk does not increase mucus production.

Boil milk and add one-half teaspoon of turmeric power and one-half tablespoon of ginger powder (you can also use fresh ginger).
Allow the milk to cool to room temperature so that you can drink it without burning your mouth. Try to drink it two times a day and especially before going to sleep.

9. Steam:
If your little one suffers from cold and has trouble breathing, get him/her to take steam. Make the kid stand in the bathroom with hot water running or simply heat water in a wide bowl and make the kid inhale the hot fumes for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Adding eucalyptus oil can also help soothe your child's system.

10. Carom Seeds
Boiling water along with carom seeds (ajwain) and tulsi leaves can help to keep the cough in check. It also helps in relieving chest congestion.

Few More Tips :- 

  • Drink several cups of hot water during the day to ensure that the phlegm moves from the lungs to the intestine from where it can be excreted.
  • Take herbs which have the ability to dissolve the phlegm like cumin powder, ginger powder, black pepper, white pepper, turmeric powder and lemon grass. These herbs are usually take as a decoction boiled in water or one can also add them to soups.
  • For dry cough, a decoction made of ginger root and black pepper can be taken with half teaspoon of honey.  Alternatively, a decoction (काढ़ा बनाने का कार्य) of cumin, black pepper, cinnamon, lemon grass, along with mulethi (liquorice) is very soothing. These should be taken at least three-four times in a day.
  • Inhaling steam with a few drops of eucalyptus oil can be very refreshing. Whole body sauna and steam also helps to get the phlegm moving.
  • Body massage with til oil mixed with olive oil is very helpful.
  • Turmeric is an excellent herb for fighting inflammation and infections. It acts as a natural antibiotic and immunity booster.
  • Ajwain (carom seeds) is an excellent herb for the stomach. You can make a decoction with a pinch of ajwain, onion juice and gur (jaggery). This can be taken once a day. Ajwain can also be roasted and added to rotis for lunch or dinner.
  • Use saline nasal drops to clear blocked nasal passages.

शहद :

यह त्वचा की झुर्रियां मिटाने में बड़ा सहायक है।
यह खुश्क त्वचा को मुलायम कर रेशमी व चमकदार बनाता है।
 चेहरे पर शहद की एक पतली तह चढ़ा लें। इसे 15-20 मिनट लगा रहने दें, फिर कॉटनवूल भिगोकर इसे पोंछ लें। तैलीय त्वचा वाले शहद में चार-पांच बूंद नीबू का रस डालकर उपयोग करें।

 नीम :

 यह त्वचा में रोग प्रतिरोधी क्षमता बढ़ाता है। इसके प्रयोग से मुंहासे में जादू जैसा लाभ होता है।
 चार-पांच नीम की पत्तियों को पीसकर मुलतानी मिट्टी में मिलाकर लगाएं, सूखने पर गरम पानी से धो लें। केला : यह त्वचा में कसाव लाता है तथा झुर्रियों को मिटाता है। पका केला मैश कर चेहरे पर लगाएं। आधा घंटे बाद ठंडे पानी से धो लें।
